The Town Manager will be working to provide strategic direction for the revitalisation of the Town and other areas which will benefit the economy of the town.

With ever changing social, commercial and technological demands such as out of town retailing and e-commerce the pressures on the town centre are increasing. Town Management will need to be the basis for coordinating and directing future change to enable Exmouth to remain competitive and to continue to fulfil its traditional functions.

A role is to maintain and improve the vitality and successfulness of the town, acting as a coordinator and catalyst for ideas and activities. This involves developing a Town Management Partnership involving local authorities, the Chamber of Commerce, statutory organisations, retailers, businesses and other organisations with an interest in the town."Exmouth Town Management partnership is set up as an independent body to promote the well being of this town's economy.

Thursday 7th October 2004,
The Annual General Meeting of EXMOUTH TOWN MANAGEMENT FORUM was at the Royal Beacon Hotel. Proceedings commenced with a presentation by Karime Hassan, Director Corporate Services Environment, EDDC, on the major Commercial Development Opportunities in Exmouth.The possible major development near the Railway Station. There where many questions and possibilities raised that could transform part of the town in an effort to keep and improve trade and amenities in Exmouth.

Also Tony Matthews, local service officer, DCC with an update on car parking study.
