2005, A huge Flower bed depicts the wines of the Loire Valley.
Plants from a Cornish nursery have been used to transform
Trafalgar Square for 24 hours before been taken to Exmouth
to be displayed for six weeks.
The
London landmark was covered with a carpet of 95,000 plants,
each sown by hand and grown by staff at a plant centre near
Saltash.

The
plants arrived late in London on Wednesday 24th August in
the night and it took the designers five hours to complete
their work.
The
event, to promote French wine, was an unusual opportunity
for Kernock Park Plants to show off their work. The flower
bed depict the wines of the Loire Valley.

There
is about 95,000 plants in this display - 75,000 for the main
display and 20,000 for the flowers that go round the fountain."
