Drive The Esplanade,
1900's

Queens Drive as seen in this lovely
old postcard from 1906. As a lady on a bike goes along Queens Drive an
asphalted walk way. Built to celebrate Queen Victoria`s Diamond Jubilee
in 1897.
Orcombe Point on the right. Photo shows
the older wooden benches.
See large photo below:
Large Photo: A man is sat on
bench with its high back. (left in picture, then it must have been new).
While two ladies sit on the right with their hats, one with a big sun
shield on this hot Edwardian day. In the middle of the picture is Foxholes
Hill with The Barn, with its high pointed roof. (left of lady on bike)
now the superb Barn
Hotel. What were the other small buildings at the front that are no
longer there?
