Bus routes in Devon www.devon.gov.uk/bus_maps.htm
The Transport Co-ordination centre at Devon County Council put together the new Public Transport web site. It supplies details of an e-mail / telephone enquiry line which provides information for all local bus services and includes a searchable index of all bus routes in Devon.
Train
There is a very good rail network from which you can reach Exeter and then the local link to Exmouth. Trains from London Paddington main line station are fast and frequent over the two routes to Exeter (one via Bristol and the beautiful Roman town of Bath, but you don't have to change). The other route has also much lovely scenery. Look out for the white horse cut into the rolling hills. You can connect with a network of local and cross-country routes, many of which are particularly scenic and an excellent way to see more of the countryside.
From Exeter Central take the Avocet line service to Exmouth along the river with great views (25 minute journey). This is an important link for Exmouth and villages to Exeter, please support it. It also saves trying to park in Exeter on a day trip from Exmouth, with fantastic views of the Exe Estuary , especially at sunset. The name Avocet derives from the bird which overwinters on the internationally-important Exe Estuary site.
Coach
The National Express coach system covers most of the UK and has a main interchange coach station at Exeter. There is a frequent local bus service between Exeter and Exmouth.
Passenger Ferry
From Starcross Pier (over footbridge at Starcross Station) to Exmouth Marina, short walk to beach and shops. 2nd April-30th October
