Welcome to Exmouth, on the East Devon coast.

Exmouth is a beautiful family resort with its 2 mile long seafront, lovely cliff walks with stunning views of the bay. It has an excellent beach for the family to swim and play or just to relax, or enjoy its many activities. Sand dunes and rock pools and plenty of sea front attractions will keep everyone entertained for hours.

The Dorset and East Devon Coast from Exmouth (eastwards) has been officially ranked alongside the Great Barrier Reef and the Grand Canyon as one of the natural wonders of the world.

The coast provides a walk through
time of 185 million years of the earth's
history and stretches from Orcombe Point
at Exmouth in Devon to Dorset.
Dorset and Devon successfully bid for
World Heritage Status

The estuary of the River Exe offers
many attractions for boat trips, Sailing
and and water sports.

 



The River Exe is renowned nationally and
beyond as a site of special scientific interest
and an important habitat for wading and
migrating birds. Exmouth has it's Nature
reserve
on the River Exe,

In the immediate vicinity are attractive
rural and coastal walks.

It is at the start of the East Devon Way an
inland walk that goes as far as Dorset.

Exmouth has a nice town centre that leads
to the beach though many parks. With its
Magnolia shopping centre, Indoor Market,
specialist shops and of course
Accommodation of all types.
It has a Marina with boats
and ferry. Plenty of leisure,
entertainment and fun for all,

From The Strand Gardens in the
centre of Exmouth you can walk
from one garden to another to the
beach, maybe a coffee on the way
(Exmouth is well known for its gardens
and flower displays throughout Europe).

See the town, its entertainments
including the well known Pavilion
and the many family attractions in and
around the area. Sports of all kinds, including
Water sports and golf Courses.

In the centre of East Devon's glorious countryside with Woodbury Common and beautiful towns and villages nearby. Only 25 minutes away from Exeter by train with great views of the Exe Estuary, internationally renowned for its wildlife. See the local area map with directions & train links to Exmouth.

Plantation Walk Description of the walk with 12 photos. Also known as Madeira Walk. Starts below the Beacon, it is a lovely shaded walk amongst trees and bushes and flowers that extends behind the sea front.

Walkers and Keen cyclists can also ride the cycle route from Exmouth to Budleigh Salterton along Buzzard Way. Starting near Phear Park, then over the road at Littleham Cross, then again on the old railway line towards Budleigh. about 5 miles

The River Exe has access from the Imperial Recreation Ground (near the railway station) Left to the corner where the sea meets the river when the tide is out.

Or the start of the walk to Lympstone, a great walk, part of it, can be also on the river bed when the tide is out. (Lympstone Village)
